Sundas Khalid

(Director, CEO and Co-Founder)

“There is no superiority of an Arab over a non-Arab, or of a non-Arab over an Arab, and no superiority of a White person over a Black person, or of a Black person over a White person, except on the basis of personal piety and righteousness.”

~Prophet Muhammad (p. b. u. h.)

Sundas is CEO, Director and Co-Founder of ASAM. Sundas qualified as a midwife from King’s College London in 2018. Her passion for midwifery has developed through her training and work career. She believes to treat all women how she would want her own sister to be treated and strives to achieve this. She was fortunate enough to support both her sisters during their pregnancy and labours and that for her has been one of the biggest highlights of her career.

She took on the role of CEO in November 2022 and she is committed to building ASAM into an organisation that can support midwives, student midwives and the South Asian community. She knows there is a need for a network such as this and hopes to inspire and support many others to achieve their goals. She is committed, passionate and driven to fulfilling the visions ASAM initially set out to achieve.

Sundas wishes to see ASAM as an accessible platform for support/advice and more and you can book in to arrange a chat with her using the website.

The last 6 months have been quite the whirlwind for her, she got married to her lovely other half and has since moved down to Swansea where she is currently working as a community midwife.

In her spare time Sundas often writes her thoughts in a personal blog. When she is not blogging or exploring Wales you can find her either trialling a new recipe or eating cake!
