Introduction
The Association of South Asian Midwives C.I.C. (ASAM) is a membership organisation which as of the 5th May 2021 is offering membership for midwives and student midwives.
Any registered midwife or student midwife can become a member as long as they are able to provide a work/university email to register with. The association welcome individuals who share aligned visions and values and who support the purpose of ASAM.
ASAM seeks to represent the communities it serves and that all members of the community are fairly represented. Membership is open to all sections of the community regardless of colour, race, nationality, ethnic or national origins, gender, disability, age, or sexuality.

Midwife Membership
The cost of membership for registered midwives will be £10 per month or a one off price of £110 for the whole year. Midwives who are members of ASAM will benefit from the following:
· Midwife peer to peer support
· Monthly Group Meetings
· GDPR Friendly Support Group
· Opportunity for 1:1 support
Student Midwife Membership
The cost of membership for student midwives will be £2.50 per month or a one off price of £25 for the whole year. Student midwives who are members of ASAM will benefit from the following:
· Monthly Group Meetings
· Personal Statement and Interview Support
· Opportunity for 1:1 support
All Members
All members will benefit from Pastoral Support which will include:
· Support with experiences
· Debriefing service
· Wellbeing and Coaching
· Quarterly Wellbeing Sessions
All members will also benefit from the following:
· Development sessions that will run throughout the year
· Discounted prices off of ASAM merchandise
· The opportunity to reach out for confidential support
Members Responsibilities
All members are representative of ASAM and will be expected to act in accordance to the visions and values that ASAM aims to uphold.
Cancelling Membership
For members who wish to cancel their membership, they can do so by emailing the team at contact@asamidwives.co.uk.
MANAGING INFORMATION
Information that is shared through membership will remain confidential unless permission has been granted to share this.
As of 5th May 2021, this information is correct however if there are changes within the organisation and there is a need for amendments in the policy, the amendments will be made accordingly.
